Point of Existence mod team has published another update on their website. They are in need of talented 3ds Max Animators, Texture/Skinning Artists and experienced Level Designers.
In the month of September ten new developers have joined our ranks and we still have additional positions to fill.
The screenshots on their site feature skinned vehicles, and shots of maps under development. The skinned vehicles show off the different camo schemes for the different theatres of battle.

Krawal Gaming Network has an excellent gallery of in-game Battlefield2: Special Forces screenshots. Of particular interest is this screenshot of one of the maps in the upcoming expansion. You can see its got an construction yard feel to it. Its not overly urban, not too many houses or high-rises. It Definately looks like you are fighting in some sort of industrial compound.

So, I’m in the office, away from my Battlefield Box, and bumming around the web, finding tidbits of info on the game. I started looking for gear, you know, tshirts, hats, mugs and the like, but come up empty. Where’s the merchandising? No wear to be found… Oh, the humanity… so we made some. With CafePress as a starting point, we figure that we can make custom items for people, clans and the like. Go take a peek, and give us ideas for things you’d want to see. We’ll make a one off for you, and the ones that the masses clamor for, well, we’ll do silk screen runs.

Visit: www.cafepress.com/battlewear Please pass comments/ideas/suggestions. I doubt we’ll get rich off this, but maybe we can defray some server costs. Email us for more info.

The widely popular mod, Point of Existence, has posted another update on their progress on the latest version of the mod. PoE has been known for providing an outstanding selection of vehicles, and with BF2’s lack of variety - its an eagerly anticipated mod. They have been working hard on porting the mod to the BF2 engine. The latest update features screenshots of new skins for infantry, the Su25 Frogfoot and the Nh-90 transport heli.

New Battlefield 2: Special Forces screenshots are available on IGN. They make me wonder why I have never seen a military edition Sea-Doo. Its as if someone in some meeting declared, “Lets see, we’ll remove any kind of armored vehicles… and add in this really cherry jetski!”

Every new post, screenshot and video about BF2: SF further fuels my worry that the game will ultimately, suck. Smaller maps, fewer vehicles, weaker vehicles, a stronger focus on ground base fighting… yuck. I can load up Counter-Strike if I want ground based action. Don’t even get me started on the fact that they are just now adding the AH-64 Apache Longbow. BF2 is stuck with a 20 year old Super Cobra, and this supposedly “smaller more ground focused” expansion is going to feature the newer and more powerful Apache into the mix?
C’mon.

Do a google search for “Battlefield 2″ there are over 33,300,000 results. Yet only a handful provide detailed, credible, relevant information on Battlefield 2. Having played Battlefield from the first day it came out, I am a deeply loyal fan of the series. Battlefield thrusts you into a field of battle where you decide your role. Everything from unloading an Anti-Air gun at an enemy Zero overhead, to driving a tank and blasting foes, to manuevering an unweildy Aircraft carrier into striking range of an island. The field of battle was set - have at it. Battlefield 2 continues this tradition and updates the weaponry from the WWII era to modern combat.
WordPress is a cutting edge publishing platform. WordPress.com just recently launched giving me the opportunity to use this new service and run a hosted solution. What does this mean? Less time configuring a server means more time to write about and play Battlefield 2.
